Esdeley

Context

Esdeley is a web platform that compares product prices in real time across more than 30 Ecuadorian retailers. The challenge was to turn data from different APIs and websites into a consistent, useful comparison experience for shoppers.

My role

Developed the platform end to end, from data collection and normalization to the comparison experience and resilient handling of external sources.

Approach

• Collected product data from multiple APIs and websites, then normalized product information into a consistent model.
• Filtered irrelevant results and ranked products by price and unit cost.
• Built grocery basket comparison and historical price tracking features.
• Added deal detection, optional AI-powered search, and caching to improve discovery and performance.
• Designed partial failure handling so the platform remains useful when an external source is unavailable.
• Delivered a responsive interface for browsing and comparing products across devices.

Impact

• Makes it easier to find better prices across Ecuadorian retailers in one place.
• Gives shoppers more context through unit costs, basket totals, deals, and price history.
• Provides a resilient comparison experience despite the variability of external data sources.
